Our Sacramento Candidate and Campaign Staff Operations Training has been scheduled for January 28th and 29th, 2016 at the Sacramento Central Labor Council. Please check here for more information.
We are, frankly, not your typical organization. Our goal is to see pragmatic, progressive candidates elected to office, key social and environmental issues embraced by candidates, and our partner’s work made more effective. We convene, train, facilitate, advise-and prefer that others take the credit.
The three distinct arms of our organization, our umbrella 501c-4 (Leadership For Jobs and a New Economy), our PAC (the Sierra Nevada Opportunity Political Action Committee), and our 501c-3 (The Community Governance Partnership) enable us to work with various partners and allies on issues of social and environmental justice, as well as political campaigns.
Our work includes the early identification and mentoring of promising political talent, hosting community organizer trainings through The California Organizing Academy, and encouraging participation in Campaign Operations Training for campaign staff or as candidates for county and city office. Once elected, they become the long missing progressive, pragmatic “farm team” for statewide office. There are now sitting Supervisor and City Council members in the Sierra and Central Valley who trace their success back directly to these trainings and subsequent SNOPAC campaign assistance.
